Learn skills that build character on stage and off! TheatreWorks Florida proudly announces their educational component, ClassWorks. This highly anticipated, arts education program will provide professional level training in musical theatre. Adult classes are anticipated to follow. The goal of ClassWorks is to provide educational opportunities that will encourage both adult and youth audiences to participate in or attend theatrical productions with a heightened awareness and understanding of the theatrical process by enabling the uninitiated to crave challenging and adventuresome theatre.

"NON-DANCER" INTRO TO MUSICAL THEATRE DANCE (2 WK SESSION - DATES/TIMES: TBA)
Ages 13 to adult. No dance skill required.
Orientation: SAT June 10, 2019 at 11AM
Classes meet everyday M-FR from 6PM-7:30PM
Public Presentation: SAT June 24, 2019 at 12PM
Class Limit: 20 students (NOTE: 5 students minimum must be enrolled for class to be held)

Love musical theatre? Want to perform on stage but lacking the formal dance training skills to get you past the dance audition? This is the class for you! Explore musicality, body awareness and the actual dance movements that will get you on the road to dancing securely in an audition and into a show. A special class will be held with the professional cast of TheatreWorks Florida's current MainStage production. All students will participate in a public showcase performance at the end of the 2-week session.
MUSICAL THEATRE DANCE INTENSIVE (2 WK SESSION - DATES/TIMES: TBA)

This dance intensive is designed to examine and reproduce the distinct styles of musical theatre choreographer masters. Students will study and reproduce original choreography from such stage hits as Hairspray, The Will Rogers Follies and more. Skills are focused on technical movement, dancing "exact" and onstage performance. A special class will be held with the professional cast of TheatreWorks Florida's current MainStage production. All students will participate in a public showcase performance at the end of the session.
SCOTT A. COOK
Originally from New York, Scott is an award-winning director & choreographer, working in the field of musical theatre nationally and internationally for over 30 years. He is the Artistic Producer of TheatreWorks Florida and also currently teaches dance for the Florida Southern College Theatre and Dance Dept. in Lakeland, FL. Director/choreographer credits include: Rock Of Ages (Central Florida regional premiere), Hands On A Hardbody (Central Florida regional premiere), Nunsense, Legally Blonde: The Musical (Central Florida regional premiere), Little Shop of Horrors, The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Parade, Plaid Tidings, Cats, Big River, Footloose, Cabaret, Three Penny Opera, Nuncrackers, Jekyll & Hyde, Meat Street, 42nd Street, A Chorus Line, Anything Goes, Blood Brothers, Brigadoon, Company, Dames At Sea, Damn Yankees, Forever Plaid, Godspell, Grease, Guys & Dolls, The Rocky Horror Show, The Taffetas and The Will Rogers Follies. His award winning shows include:
